Bryan Singer has been using social media to update fans on the production of “X-Men: Apocalypse.” The movie director has taken to using his Instagram page to provide some spoilers and recently, Singer teased the possible appearance of Gambit in the sequel.

Bryan Singer stirred fans curiosity and excitement on a possible Gambit cameo appearance in “X-Men: Apocalypse” when he shared his photo with “Gambit” star Channing Tatum. The movie director further teased the card-wielding mutant’s appearance with the caption, “Always wanted to work with this guy!” His post has received over ten thousand likes with commentators expressing their thrill over the possibility of seeing Tatum debut Gambit in the film.

According to Comic Book Movie , the hash tags #XMen and #Gambit, which Singer included in his photo with Channing Tatum, could certainly be cause for speculation. However, Bryan Singer always makes it a point to use the hash tag #XMenApocalypse when he shares updates or possible spoilers about the film. This headshot concept photo of En Sabah Nur, played by Oscar Isaac, is one example where he captioned it, "En Sabah Nur" and the hash tag “#XMenApocalypse.” Singer had also shared numerous set photos on his Instagram page where the sequel’s title always exists as a hash tag.

Channing Tatum has also previously made it clear that he wants Gambit to appear in a solo film where he can tell the character’s origin story. When asked by MTV News whether the mutant will appear in “X-Men: Apocalypse,” Tatum replied, “I don't want to introduce Gambit until you can really explain who Gambit is.”

According Slashfilm , Channing Tatum’s statement clearly dissuades any possible Gambit appearance in the sequel. A cameo in “X-Men: Apocalypse” wouldn’t suffice in telling the mutant’s origin story compared to a standalone film.

As to how Gambit’s story will be told, Channing Tatum told Empire Magazine, “We’re going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies.” He didn’t provide further details but teased that fans will definitely be thrilled as he is also super excited to start working on the film. “It’s always about saving the world but maybe we’re going to shift things a little bit,” he added.

Off-camera Channing Tatum is a real-life superhero. Among the other Marvel superhero stars who were on stage at the Hall H panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, only Tatum was kind enough to help Stan Lee off the stage. After the Marvel comics creator gave his speech and took selfies with the stars including Huge Jackman (Wolverine), Oscar Isaac (Apocalypse) and more, he slowly stepped down from the stage. As seen in the video below, towards the end scene, only Channing Tatum was able to notice the 92-year-old and assisted him down the stage.
