'X-Men: Apocalypse': Professor Xavier's Look Revealed, James McAvoy Goes Bald For The Role
Professor Xavier’s look from “X-Men: Apocalypse” has been teased by the director Bryan Singer. Played by James McAvoy, the image shared by the Singer on his Instagram account showed James going bald. The actor can be seen sitting in a salon as his head is getting shaved.
The image was captioned as “#Xavier reborn (in process ) #jamesmcavoy #XMEN #XMenApocalypse @xmenmovies.” This will reportedly be the first time that Professor Xavier will be seen in a bald look in the film. James has played the role of the leader of X-Men in “X-Men: First Class” and “X-Men: Days of The Future Past.” However, he never went bald for the role and sported a thick mane till now.
Though it is not known why the Singer has decided to show Professor Xavier in a bald avatar, it has been reported by Deadline that the baldness might be the side effect of his power related to his brain. According to the comics, Professor Xavier also known as Professor X is born with superhuman abilities and has powerful telepathic abilities through which he can control the minds. He gives shelter to mutants and trains them. The character has been created by Stan Lee and artist Jack Kirby and has been shown as a paraplegic. Professor X is the main enemy of supervillain Magneto and holds view against war and violence.
Meanwhile, the plot of X-Men: Apocalypse” is unknown. The film is currently in pre-production stage and it stars Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Channing Tatum, Evan Peters, Hugh Jackman, McAvoy and others. Moreover, Hugh Jackman is also expected to appear as Wolverine in the film. According to Entertainment Weekly, if the actor appears as a tail featuring mutant in the X- Men sequel, it will be his ninth comic book film.
Jackman has also revealed his recent interview that he will not be playing Wolverine after “Wolverine 3.” “It is my last time. It felt like it was the right time to do it. Seventeen years, I never thought in a million years it would last this long,” he revealed to Dr Oz according to the website.
