While the PS4 has been making waves at the Game Developers Conference with the newest demo of the Unreal Engine 4, Xbox 720 has been surprisingly quiet for quite some time now.

But the latest report shows that, design-wise, players may be in for a stripe-y surprise.

Kotaku reports that the Xbox 720 (or Durango or next-gen Xbox) may be sporting a zebra look when it releases to the market. However, there are still debates on whether the leaked photos are the actual controllers or Microsoft is trying to dampen other possible leaks of its controller before the actual release.

When it comes to the major functions and buttons, however, Kotaku adds that its similarity to the Xbox 360 is pretty striking. Modifications have been made, but it's probably through software-or perhaps sensors that have yet to be confirmed.

But GameSpot adds that GameStop's CEO Paul Raines is looking at a great console once the next-gen Xbox hits the stands.

"We've been spending a lot of time with Microsoft, but we have to let them take the led on this, but it will be a very hot, compelling device," said Raines to GameSpot. "They are doing some really cool stiff, and I'm eager to hear them start their announcements."

Hopefully the Xbox 720's rumored holiday release in tandem with the PS4 will come to fruition, if only so it will not lose to Sony's sales when gamers are faced with the question of which console to buy.

DayZ for the PS4-what's in it for the Xbox 720?

In the already neck and neck battle between Sony and Microsoft for the next-gen consoles, PS4 has found a possible edge over the competition.

According to The News Tribe, DayZ, one of the PC games most loved by gamers, is preparing for a PS4 release.

"It appears to be the kind of game that Sony are interested in, I think we just have to wait and see," said Dean Hall, game inventor, to The News Tribe. "We've talked and met with Sony, and they're very-you know they're obviously interested."

There has been no word yet on whether the Xbox 720 will also be carrying this as a major title for the console. But it would be a potential stumble that they would have to get over and find a similar impact for gamers.
