Microsoft may have been the one to break the silence when it comes to the release date of its next-gen console Xbox One.

Geek reports that the official Xbox One website has revealed the release date of November 11, 2013. Recent checking of the site revealed that it has since been removed, which could be a hint that a November 11 or earlier release of the next-gen console may really be in the works.

The report gives further proof of this, as November 5 is a Tuesday which is a typical launch day of the week. Gamescom is looking to be a good venue to reveal these tidbits of information, so stay tuned.

Speaking of big reveals, the possible release date for the Xbox One isn't the only thing that fans can look forward to, because Microsoft seems to be gearing for a very eventful time at gamescom.

VG 24/7 reports that the company will be announcing a new title that will be coming to the next-gen platform.

While gamescom is a very obvious choice to reveal a new game--Sony has already announced last month that it will be announcing more game titles come the event--Microsoft may take this chance to push for a better messaging for its Xbox One.

Considering the many policies that it has already reversed within a month's time of the E3 2013, it can also aim to benefit from the event by showing off new gaming franchise from its recently improved indie gaming support.

When Microsoft revealed its gaming lineup, it was overshadowed by Sony's PS4 by a long shot, considering the competitor's mix of indie and AAA games at launch. Just as the E3 conferences became the grounds to up each other in terms of what can be offered for next-gen, gamescom may be a battle of new games that have been developed and slated for release.

PS4 preorders won't be for launch day in U.K.

If you still have not yet placed your preorder for a PS4 console and you live in the U.K. area, chances are you will not be getting the console on day one.

According to GameSpot, Sony has already put its foot down regarding the matter, and relayed the message to retailer ShopTo in a document:

"Sony have confirmed all PlayStation 4 pre-orders placed from 6th August will now not be guaranteed for launch. You can still pre-order PS4 with us in case we receive cancellations and can fulfill your order for launch."

The representative of the retailer has also confirmed that the memo is indicative of all the retailers in the U.K.

Retailers like Amazon have already posted announcements echoing the official statement. Quoted by Digital Spy, Amazon has written in its website:

"Please note--due to high demand, orders placed for this PlayStation 4 console from August 6 may be received after release date. We will ship orders as soon as we receive sufficient inventory."

Outside the U.K., however, Sony has not yet released any announcements on the lack of supply of the console, which can mean that preorders from retailers are still currently being accepted.

Gran Turismo 6 headed for PS Vita?

Will the sales of the PS4 be a hindrance to a possible positive and fruitful reception of the Gran Turismo 6 on the PS3?

This is the question posed in an interview quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle, with CEO of SCEE Jim Ryan.

In response, the company thinks that, even with the possible hindrance that it can pose, there is still a good chance that the PS3 will thrive alongside the PS4.

"I think they are complementary. Obviously, it makes the job of marketing more difficult, because it needs to be carefully done, but I think the two can co-exist perfectly well," said Ryan in the interview quoted by PlayStation Lifestyle.

And with the potential of the PS Vita becoming more of a focus in gaming--as it is now positioned as a combo with the PS--the interview also raised the question of whether or not there may be a Gran Turismo game coming out for the PS Vita.

"There is nothing to report just yet, but we look at all our platforms and love all our children equally, ha!" said Ryan. Perhaps this is the chance to make sure that the PS Vita will find the spotlight it needs alongside the PS4 for the next-gen.
