Xbox One Summer Spotlight Sale and Deals with Gold titles announced, new games up for backwards compatibility
It’s another week of sales and discounts over at the Xbox Games Store, as two sale promos are ongoing until Aug. 17. The first is the Deals With Gold for the week, which packs a punch of games with discounts of up to 80% for the Xbox One and Xbox 360, announced over at Major Nelson’s Blog.
Kicking things off is the hit brawler “Mortal Kombat X,” now at 25% discount for the Xbox One. Players can also get their hands on big name titles, such as “Thief” (60% discount), “Project CARS Digital Edition” (33% discount), “Max: The Curse of Brotherhood” (up to 80% discount), “LEGO Marvel Super Heroes” (up to 75% discount), “Never Alone” (up to 50% discount) and “Just Dance 2015” (up to 60% discount).
Microsoft has also provided Xbox 360 players with a good lineup for the Deals With Gold sale. Varying discounts of up to 80% are offered for titles like “Hitman: Absolution,” “Just Dance 2015,” “Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed,” ScreamRide” and “The LEGO Movie Videogame.”
Note that the Deals With Gold are only available for Xbox Live Gold members. For those who still want more titles, Xbox is also running the Summer Spotlight Sale. However, the titles here are geared only for the Xbox One.
For its latest offerings, the Summer Spotlight Sale will deliver a couple of titles, with “Toy Soldiers: War Chest,” “Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons,” “Prototype” and “Prototype 2” already out in the Xbox Store. Other titles like “Super Mega Baseball: Extra Innings,” “The Bridge” and “Commander Cherry’ Puzzled Journey” will be available on Aug. 14.
As the launch of the backwards compatibility feature for the Xbox One draws near, the number of games that will be enjoy this feature are also growing. In the latest count, it appears that there are now a total of 130 games on the Xbox 360 that can be played on the Xbox One, Grab It Magazine reported.
The more recent titles that have been confirmed for backwards compatibility include “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings,” “Dark Souls II,” “Ghost Recon Future Soldier” and “Splinter Cell: Double Agent.” Microsoft has also previously confirmed some games that will be coming to the Xbox One via the backwards compatibility feature.
Among these titles are the “Fallout” series, “BiosShock” and “BioShocke Infinite,” “Borderlands,” “Saints Row,” “Dead Space” and “Rayman Legends” and “Rayman Origins.” While not all Xbox 360 games from before will get to enjoy this feature, Microsoft did announce that, moving forward, all Xbox 360 titles to come out will be backwards compatible.
