Xiaomi Mi 5 defeats Galaxy S7 Edge, iPhone 6S in AnTuTu’s Top 10 best performing smartphones for Q1 2016
The first quarter of 2016 has come to an end and AnTuTu has released its top 10 performance smartphones for the quarter. The list includes several smartphones from China. It indicates that Apple and Samsung are likely to face tough competition from Chinese smartphones in the near future.
The statistics for the top 10 performance smartphones for Q1 2016 have been derived using the AnTuTu Benchmark v6.0 app. The average score for each smartphone has been calculated during the period of Jan. 1 to March 31, 2016.
According to AnTuTu, the Xiaomi Mi 5 that is powered by Snapdragon 820 chipset is leading the pack of best peformance smartphones. It has recorded the highest score of 136875. The Snapdragon 820 is currently the fastest chipset from Qualcomm. The Snapdragon 830 that will come to replace the SD 820 will be officially announced later this year.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge has grabbed the second spot on the list with a score of 134599. There is no confirmation on whether the S7 Edge is powered by SD 820 or Exynos 8890 SoC. The SoC of S7 Edge is supported by 4 GB of RAM.
The third place goes to iPhone 6S that is powered by Apple A9 chipset and 2 GB RAM. It has scored 133781. The same CPU and RAM combination powers the newly launched iPhone SE (Special Edition) smartphone.
The Huawei Mate 8 that is powered by HiSilicon Kirin 950 chipset holds the fourth position in the list with a score of 91157. The Meizu Pro 5 that features Exynos 7420 SoC is placed on the fifth position with a score of 86322. The 64 GB models of Huawei Mate 8 and Meizu Pro 5 feature 4 GB of RAM and their 32 GB models have 3 GB of RAM.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 that is also powered by the Exynos 7420 chipset manufactured by Samsung is on the sixth place with a score of 83364. The Exynos chip is support by 4 GB of RAM.
LETV Max that is driven by the older Snapdragon 810 chipset and 4 GB of RAM is on the seventh position with a score of 81584. The eighth, ninth, and tenth spots belong to iPhone 6 with 80223 score, Vivo Xplay 5 (Standard Edition) with a score of 78454 and Samsung Galaxy S6 with 76912 score.
