The Xiaomi Mi 5 continues to be at the centre of leaks, rumours and announcements as we approach its imminent launch. Xiaomi Co-Founder and Senior VP Liwan Jiang have already confirmed that the handset will be announced after the Chinese New Year in February and will go on sale a week after launch.

GforGames spotted that the device has appeared on the Geekbench database with a new version of Snapdragon 820 SoC. The device now displays version 2 of Snapdragon processor under the hood. With a new chipset on board, the Mi5 has reportedly scored 2,320 points in single-core and 5,347 points in multi-core benchmarks.

In November, the handset came across the benchmark with a Snapdragon 820 “revision 1” SoC. According to the earlier listing the device, codenamed as “Xiaomi Gemini” yielded 2,140 and 4,752 points in single and multi-core tests respectively.

Apart from performance, the listing has also revealed that the Xiaomi Mi 5 will come packed with 3GB of RAM and have Android 6.0 Marshmallow on board. According to a report by Android Headlines, the final version of the handset may be launched with MIUI 7 based on Marshmallow.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun already updated his official Weibo account saying the device will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC. Previous rumours suggest that the much awaited Xiaomi Mi5 will sport a massive 4 GB of RAM.

The device is tipped to feature a 5.2-inch display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The purported handset is believed to house a physical Home Button with fingerprint scanner.

The rumours mill also suggests that the smartphone will be shipped with NFC chip on board. The smartphone is slated to house a 16-megapixel main camera and a 13-megapixel front-facing sensor for selfies.
