Dubbed as “Global Mi Phone”, the Xiaomi Mi4i is going to be unveiled in India on April 23. The Xiaomi Mi4i is the cheaper version of the Mi4 flagship from the Chinese manufacturer that was released in the previous year.

According to Giz China, the affordable edition of Mi4 will come with plastic construction that will help in cutting down the cost of the device. The original Xiaomi Mi4 came with premium covering with a combination of metal and glass.

Also, the rumoured specs of the Xiaomi Mi4i show that it comes with downgraded specs of the original device. The Xiaomi Mi4i will house a 5-inch full HD display screen.

The Xiaomi Mi4 was powered by Snapdragon 801 chipset and 3 GB of RAM. However, the Xiaomi Mi4i will come with Snapdragon 615 chipset that features an octa-core processor and 2 GB of RAM.

The Xiaomi Mi4 came with internal storage options like 16 GB and 64 GB. As of this writing, the Xiaomi Mi4i is rumoured to arrive with 16 GB of storage. There is no concrete evidence of the 64 GB model of Mi4i.

Like the 2014 flagship, it will also house a 13 MP rear camera. The Xiaomi Mi4 came with an 8 MP front-facing camera. Instead of it, the Xiaomi Mi4i will be featuring a 5 MP shooter.

The Mi4i is a dual-SIM device that comes with support for LTE connection. However, it is expected to support more LTE bands than the original handset. According to a GSM Arena post, the Xiaomi Mi4i is expected to feature a bigger battery. However, the details on the capacity of the battery is not known yet.

Speculations indicate that it will be priced at $161 (AU$ 209). As of this writing, there is no official confirmation on the specs from the Chinese manufacturer. Accurate information on the Xiaomi Mi4i will be revealed on April 23.
