Xiaomi officially launched Redmi Note 3 with Snapdragon 650 SoC
In January, Xiaomi seems to be on a surge of unveiling new devices. Earlier this week, the company announced it latest budget smartphone, the Xiaomi Redmi 3 at 599 RMB (AU$130). Today, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched Redmi Note 3, the company's first smartphone with a fingerprint sensor and a stylish all-metal body in China.
Xiaomi announced the handset back in November. The company has made few changes as far as the processor and camera units are concerned. Most of the other specifications remained the same.
As announced by the official MIUI blog post, the handset sports a 5.5-inch Full HD 1920×1080 pixels display and features the latest Sunlight Display. The display screen of the phone will adjust the contrast in real time to improve readability in sunlight.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 comes in two RAM configurations. The 2GB model houses 16GB of native memory. This model is priced at RMB 999 (AU$218). The price of the 32GB/3GB RAM variant is yet to be announced.
Powered by a 64-bit hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor, the handset also sports Adreno 510 GPU to enhance the gaming experience. The Redmi Note 3 is integrated with X8 LTE with Cat 7 speeds. The handset comes with a support for 4G+ network and works with all mobile networks in China. It is also supported by Voice over LTE (VoLTE). Other connectivity options include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11ac and GPS.
Xiaomi has upgraded the camera specs and incorporated a 16-megapixel rear camera sensor with LED flash, f2.0 aperture, dual image sensor processor (ISP) and 0.1s ultra-fast PDAF (Phase Detection Auto Focus). There is also a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies.
It runs on MIUI7 based on Android Lollipop. To sum up the specifications, there is a huge 4, 050mAh battery to juice up the device, reports BGR.
