Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 pictures, specifications, pricing surface ahead of announcement
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 is all set to get officially announced on Aug. 13. However, just before the release, several details on its specifications and pricing have surfaced along with its purported photos.
According to G for Games, the Redmi Note 2 will be featuring a 5.5-inch display that supports a full HD resolution. The leaked photos suggest that it will be coming with plastic exterior. One of the images show the AnTuTu snapshot on the device that indicates that the device is powered by MediaTek MT6795 chipset that is also referred to as Helio X10.
The chipset features a 64-bit octa-core Cortex A53 processor that clocks at 2.2 GHz. It also includes PowerVR G6200 graphics. The chipset is supported by 2 GB of RAM. It will be coming with internal storage options like 16 GB and 32 GB, BGR reported.
The Redmi Note 2 will have a 13 MP rear camera and frontal camera of 5 MP. It will come shipped with Android 5.1 Lollipop and it will have the new MIUI 7 proprietary software from the Chinese manufacturer.
Rumors have that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be launched in another variant as well. A pre-order product listing on OppoMart indicates the other Redmi Note 2 will be a phablet device as it will be featuring a 5.7-inch display. It will be powered by Snapdragon 615.
According to BGR, the two variants will be aimed towards different regions of the world. The device will be powered by a massive removable battery of 3,100 mAh capacity.
GSM Arena states that the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 will be priced at $199 for Asian audience. It will be first made available in China through flash sale campaign and later on it will be available in other parts of the world. Xiaomi has not confirmed the purported specs of Redmi Note 2. It is expected to reveal accurate information during the Aug. 13 launch event in China.
