Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro roundup: launch date, features and specs
Xiaomi has been teasing the device for some time now

Xiaomi is expected to unveil its new range of devices at an event tomorrow. It might launch as many as four new devices: the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 pro, Xiaomi Mi5, Xiaomi Mi Pad and a budget friendly handset. The company confirmed an event on Nov. 24 through a teaser image posted on its Weibo account.
Launch date
The yet to be announced Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro is already at the centre of speculation. The Chinese tech giant has also been continuously teasing the smartphone for some time now. An image posted by Bin Lin, co-Founder and President, Xiaomi, on Weibo recently indicates the launch of Redmi Note 2 Pro alongside Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 tablet on Nov. 24.
Let’s round up the specs and features of the Redmi Note 2 Pro that surfaced on these teasers. It’s worth mentioning the Xiaomi Redmi Note 2 Pro was recently spotted in a TENNA listing as well, reports NDTV Gadgets.
Specs and features
The smartphone is tipped to feature a 5.5-inch full-HD display with 1080 x 1920 resolution . The device could be powered by an octa-core MediaTek's MT6795 Helio X10 with 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt storage, reports Phone Arena.
The most recent teaser image posted on Weibo displays a metal bodied Redmi Note 2 Pro. It also shows the back panel with the camera unit and a dual-LED flash and fingerprint sensor placed below it. The unannounced handset is shown in gold.
The device might sport a 13MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera for selfies. The rumours also point to a 3,060mAh battery and Android 5.0 Lollipop. Xiaomi, however, has yet to confirm the same. According to a report in GSM Arena, the smartphone could be priced between CNY 999(AU$217 or US$156) and CNY 1099 (AU$238 or US$172).
The latest speculations also suggest Xiaomi may launch its flagship Mi5 at a later date, probably on Dec.3. The smartphone is expected to come packed with the most recently launched Snapdragon 820 SoC, 3 GB of RAM, USB Type-C port and a massive 3,060 mAh battery.
Xiaomi Mi Pad 2, which is slated to be powered by Android 5.1 Lollipop, is expected to feature a 7.9-inch display, an Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor and 2 GB of RAM.
