Xiaomi smart shoes powered by Intel: What all they can do
Xiaomi recently announced their new product 90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear. This is a pair of smart shoes that is slated to come out by April 2017.
Xiaomi announced a new product that is a pair of smart shoes. The name of this product is 90 Minutes Ultra Smart Sportswear. It is powered by the Intel Curie chip to provide the users with information that they need. This pair of smart shoes are said to provide users with information such as distance travelled as well as calories burnt.
As said earlier, the maker of this pair of shoes is Xiaomi, but it was developed by Shanghai-based Runmi Technology Co. Ltd. It is reported that the smart shoes will come with batteries that will last for 60 days. Furthermore, it is equipped with Intel’s Curie chip that will store data. The data that is stored is mostly fitness related while you are exercising, running or even walking. The chip used is also small, so it does not affect the weight of the shoes.
The shoes are aimed to help professional runners and athletes. This is why the shoes also have an arch design as well as anti-skid features. It also has full air cushion for each foot with replaceable insoles that are antibacterial.
The shoes are designed to detect movement that measures the distance you have covered as well as the speed or pace a user is going at. It also provides that amount of calories the users have burned. As mentioned earlier, the battery is said to last for at least 60 days before it needs to be charged.
This pair of shoes is available in black and surf blue colour variants, designed for men. Women also have their own colour variants, which are black and pink. Reportedly, there is a special edition of the shoes that glow in the dark. This is geared towards users who prefer to workout or run during the evening.
Priced at CNY 299 (approx. AUD 57), this pair of shoes is quite a steal. According to BGR, it is available on the company’s website Mi Home. However, purchases are only allowed in China. If buyers have friends in China to purchase this new pair of smart shoes, the shipments will start on April 15, according to GizChina.
In other news, the company also announced Mi Smart Camera, which is like a webcam that can be connected via a Wi-Fi and records 1080p videos. This is also available at Xiaomi’s official website.
