Sony Xperia S, Xperia SL and Xperia Acro S are all receiving Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware update which includes important improvements that cannot be ignored. The latest Android 4.1 is currently rolling out for owners of three smartphones.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean New Update

SonyMobile announced on Twitter of the new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware build for Xperia S, SL and Acro S which bring lots of fixes and changes on the system.

"Confirming: new JB 4.1 firmware build incoming (eta few weeks) for Xperia S, SL, acro S - brings fixes & more. We'll flag w/ blog changelog," said the tweet from @SonyMobileNews.

Due to the feedback regarding the few issues within the build, Sony ensures that all the software patches will be as good as possible and will address all problems that have been previously reported with additional improvements.

Update Changelogs

Aside from system performance improvements and stability tweaking made by Sony, the company detailed all what they have fixed on the three Xperia phones.

Camera Fixes

1. Addressed the abnormality in the "white balance."

2. Improved the "Quick Launch" button functionality.

3. Smoothen out the "1080p resolution video recording" and minimised the lag.

Applications, Services and Data

1. Streamlines "Exchange Active Sync" - particularly when running an "encrypted set-up."

2. Boosted "Connection stability for 2G network" data.

3. Ensured "Preferences on third-part applications remain after the phone reboots" - solving a possible frustrating issue.

Battery Improvements

1. Economised "Power Consumption" and "Heat Dispersion" on the device for longer and extended battery life.

2. Corrected the "Juice Level Notifications" especially when the device's battery is running low.

Hardware and User Interface

1. Introduction of "Home key long-press to launch Google Now service" and a "Double-press to launch Recent Applications."

2. Made sure that the "Volume up" button is fully responsive.

Sony has advised owners of Xperia S, SL and Acro S to be patient with the arrival of Android 4.1 updates for their phones, which the company noted will be affected by timing, availability, territory and network carrier. Updates are always pushed in phases so it may take some time but will definitely will reach all the targeted devices, said the Japanese device maker.
