Yezz To Launch The ‘World’s Slimmest And Lightest’ Windows Phone At IFA 2014
After Microsoft dropped the licensing for Windows Phones, it partnered up with different companies to create new smartphones that runs on Windows Phone OS and one of those companies is Yezz.
Yezz unveiled its first ever Windows Phone, Billy 4.7 back in June, according to Neowin. It is reported to be named after Bill gates. Neowin reports that Yezz claims the device to be the "world's slimmest and lightest" Windows Phone, Billy 4.7 is expected to shown at the IFA event in Berlin. Yezz is not able to announce exactly how light the device will be but it is expected to be 7.2mm-thick. Billy 4.7 will sport a 4.7-inch HD (1280x720px) IPS LCD Asahi Dragontrail Glass. The device is expected to run on of course the Windows Phone OS and the quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor. The specs includes 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 2MP front camera and it is reportedly to have dual sim support, according to Neowin. Billy 4.7 is expected to be released in Europe, Latin America and the United States in late 2014 and should be priced around $249 USD / €229 EUR.
Neowin reports that Billy 4.7 will be launched alongside Billy 4 that is reported to sport a 4-inch WVGA (800x480px) display. It is expected to be powered by quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon processor. the specs is expected to include 512MB of RAM, 4GB internal storage having a micro SD support, 8MP rear camera, 1.3MP front camera and a dual sim support. The device is expected to have interchangeable back covers having eight bright colours to choose from.
Neowin adds that Yezz is going to showcase more new phones at IFA 2014 including an Android 4G handset with an octa-core processor. Other Windows Phone expected to be launched at IFA are Nokia's Lumia 730 also known as the "selfie phone" and Lumia 830 which according to reports could have a PureView camera and is expected to be an affordable high-end phone. HTC One M8 for Windows is expected to launched on the event as well.
