Before even launching, Capcom’s “Street Fighter V” is already on the receiving end of some criticisms pertaining to several character models for the game. According to reports, some players have commented on Capcom’s focus on the body of some female characters, including R. Mika and Cammy.

Recently, “Street Fighter” creator Yoshinori Ono commented on the issue as Capcom recently changed several aspects of the game. In an interview with UOL Jogos cited by Gamespot, Ono noted that Capcom’s decision to de-emphasise focus on the body of female characters was not due to the scrutiny by the gaming community. He said that the company made the necessary changes so that more gamers will be more comfortable with playing the game, without any complaints or issues.

"We didn't make any changes due to external influences," Ono said to UOL Jogos. He added that "these changes came up internally. We decided to remove [the animations] because we want as many people to play as possible, and we do not want something that might make someone uncomfortable."

The issue rooted from two specific actions done by R. Mika and Cammy. In the early versions of “Street Fighter V,” R. Mika slaps her posterior whenever she executes her Critical Art. Now, Capcom tweaked the animation by zooming in on R. Mika instead.

Fans also commented on the entrance animation of Cammy, where her posterior and crotch area are visible through the way the camera was angled. Now, the camera angle has been tweaked so that her posterior and crotch area are out of the shot.

In other “Street Fighter V” news, Capcom has officially revealed the first DLC characters coming to the game. These are six returning “Street Fighter” favourites Alex, Guile, Balrog, Ibuki, Urien and Juri, Gematsu reports.
