Android Authority reports that the YotaPhone 2 is currently being sold in 20 countries mainly in Europe, the CIS and in the Middle East. The dual-screened smartphone got its major U.S. debut when it was showcased in the recently concluded 2015 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas.

According to Vlad Martynov, the CEO of Yota Devices, the appearance of the YotaPhone 2 at the tech show marks the company's plans for its future devices. He also adds that they are working on improving the E-Ink technology that its flagship device boasts about. However, Martynov did not provide details on specific carrier availability.

Based on CNET's review, its obvious that the YotaPhone 2's main selling point is its second display on its back which uses e-ink technology. The second screen is intended for reading e-books and other texts while its front LCD screen will be for the regular phone use such as texting, gaming, watching videos and Internet surfing.

The Russian brand sports a rounded design and surprisingly has no logo and has navigation keys below the screen. It comes with a 5-inch full HD AMOLED display with 1,920x1,080 pixel resolution or a pixel density of 440ppi. On the other hand, the 4.7-inch EPD (Electronic Paper Display) back-screen sports a 960x540 resolution.

The device is powered by 2.2GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with the support of 2GB of RAM plus 32GB internal storage. The smartphone uses the Android 4.4.3 KitKat as its platform but is also expected to get the Lollipop upgrade in the future. The Yota is also equipped with 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front shooter.

The YotaPhone 2 is said to be sold by T-Mobile starting March or April, but the mobile carrier has not revealed any details. On its cost, some speculate that it might be offered for roughly around US$700 to US$850 off-contract in the U.S. Finally, reports also say that the Russian smartphone might also hit Canada via a still unnamed mobile carrier.
