YouTube Getting New Exciting Feature, Will Support 60fps
Winds of change has hit YouTube which, according to an Engadget report is all set to witness the introduction of some exciting new features. On offer will be support for video playback speeds of 48 to 60 fps. This no doubt will be especially appealing to gamers as this will be just right to view the 1080p60 video game trailers now becoming commonplace. Further, gamers will find it easy to upload content from their PlayStation 4 or Xbox One to YouTube.
The YouTube team also announced the launch of the YouTube Creator Studio app which will allow for a convenient way to manage channel contents right from mobile devices. However, it's only the Android version (Android version 4.0 or higher) of the app that has been launched. The company promised the corresponding iOS version of the app is just a few weeks away. A desktop app is also in the pipeline.
YouTube has also revealed new initiative that will enable viewers to contribute to video channel creators by way of actual fund transfers. It's somewhat akin to crowd funding though YouTube has termed it Fan Funding. The feature is currently being tested on desktop and Android with select channel partners only.
Fan's contribution doesn't stop at that alone as they will soon be able to pitch in by submitting sub-titles in their own language. This no doubt will enable the video to gain a much wider audience in different regions of the world.
These apart, YouTube is also making available thousands of royalty free tracks that users can make good use of to further enliven their videos.
Another area where YouTube is putting in a lot of effort is to promote new artists. For this, they have found a common ally in the form of SiriusXM. The result of this association is "The YouTube 15" which will be aired on SiriusXM. The show will feature both established and rising artist in the Hits 1 show to be hosted by Jenna Marbles.
