Rumours of a split between young hotties, Zac Efron and Lily Collins, have been spreading around the bend after reportedly dating for three short months. However, the real question lies, was it ever true they went steady?

According to close sources the two were not serious about their rumored relationship. It is reported that the pair thought it was a good time for a casual fling, and that Efron never talked about Collins to his own pals.

The young celebrities were seen together last February, the first and last they were spotted hanging out, considering that they are both very keen on their privacies. Another source also claimed that it could have been the busy schedules that made the two fell apart.

The 24-year-old 'The Lucky One' actor had his last relationship with 'High School Musical' co-star, Vanessa Hudgens, which lasted for five long years. He was also once linked to country pop singer, Taylor Swift. On the other hand, Collins was linked to her co-star in 'Abduction,' Taylor Lautner who was also once linked to Swift.

The Truth Behind It

Other sources say that the two never became a couple and were only introduced by common friends. They may have been spotted last Valentine's Day but probably there was no chemistry to start with.

Besides, Efron himself said that he is not afraid to fall in love with anyone for he enjoys the romantic and magical feeling.
