4 Common iOS 7 Problems: Battery life, Downgrading, Fingerprint Glitches and More
Talk of the iOS 7 being Apple's revolutionary OS may have been given its due hype given the brand name, but now that some Apple fans have already upgraded theirs, a number of issues, glitches and errors have been spotted.
Check out the four most common problems, with some of these already fixed through some updates.
Downgrade to iOS 6 is Impossible
It's not anymore a question of whether you can find a good hack or technique so you can go back to enjoying the iOS 6. Now that the iOS 7 is already out in the market, Apple has already given up the grace period normally given for testing out the new OS.
This is especially true for the later models like the iPhone 4S, the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 5S. According to Extreme Tech, this is due to Apple's low-level security that has been in place.
Perhaps this is Apple's way of making change more tangible and permanent to its users. After all, it's hard to just accept new and overhauled features like these unless people actually started using them more frequently enough to be ingrained in them.
But for now, Phone Arena states that it is virtually impossible for you to find any online guides to go back to the iOS 6. The only phones that will be able to do this is via the jailbroken iPhone 4, but everyone else will have to start getting accustomed to the heavily-animated face of the Apple's iOS 7.
Apple Logo Glitch
Digital Trends noted a bug that will keep you stuck in a black screen with nothing but the Apple logo on it. This will occur when you update in a wrong manner and will end up with a device that will fail to start up properly.
The solution given to this error involves doing some minor tinkering with the Device Firmware Upgrade mode. You will need to go to iTunes and connect your device. You then have to press the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button simultaneously for 10 seconds before releasing only the Sleep/Wake button.
Let go of the Home button once the device reveals a pop-up on iTunes on the recovery mode. One clue to see if you are already in this mode is that the device screen should remain blank.
To restore the phone, select your iPhone from the left column of the iTunes, choose Select and then Restore. You will have to reinstall the iOS 7 update to get it working again.
Battery Life Sucks
A major complaint for the iOS 7 is the easy battery. Perhaps the new parallax effect on the home screen for the 3D look may be sapping out more power from the battery than intended.
One way to try and solve the issue is to conduct a clean install. Phones Review reports that this can fix the issue of battery drain, especially for phones like the iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S, which have received the brunt of the effect of a short battery life span.
A clean install should be conducted, but the report suggests that you should have a backup of all your files first. The clean install will work to improve battery life if, prior to the fixing, your phone's batt easily drained easily after installing iOS 7.
Dizzying Music Information
A lot of users have also been reporting complaints about syncing music for the iOS 7. And this happens even to the latest version of the phone, the iPhone 5, according to Latinos Post.
One solution that was posed involved unchecking the Sync Music and then clicking on the Yes option when prompted for removing music from the device. You then click on Sync Music again and Apply.
