The invites have already been sent out for Samsung's Unpacked Event, which is slated to happen on September 4 at Berlin, and those with an eye for detail may have caught on to the clue of what people can expect at the upcoming event.

Phones Review took a quick look at the invite, which contained "Note the Date 04/09/2013." The very telling "Note the Date" has now been assumed to pertain to the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 3 reveal.

With that in mind and given all the leaks that have been happening prior to the date, here are the top five features that the Galaxy Note 3 must have, in order for it to stand out even more against other competitors at another September event, the IFA 2013.

Breathtaking design and waterproofing

Of all the leaks that have already populated the Internet with images of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, what hasn't been put entirely in the spotlight is the actual design of the device.

From what has been leaked, the device always has a very angular and blocky, which makes most people wonder if the handset was just a prototype that has been leaked to show off the size, but not necessarily the design.

The most that is known about this device is that it has been rumoured to have so many possible screen sizes since the leaks began. Previous reports from Engadget had first pinpointed three possible screen sizes: 5.5, 5.7, and 6 inches.

Though there was talk that the rumoured sizes were only for testing and not for actual release of the device--otherwise, you may be looking at a very saturated market of phablets--it would be great if Samsung still expanded the size of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3's screen without having to make the phablet even bulkier.

Whether Samsung is deliberately keeping mum about the design to surprise consumers of a breakthrough design or if, indeed, there is even a possibility that the blocky designs are actually the real design of the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3, has to come from the Korean manufacturer, but the most that can be said about any reveals would be the September 4 Samsung Unpacked event.

Bigger RAM capacity and inner hardware

2GB of RAM is a pretty standard approach to storage, but the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has already been rumoured to allow 3GB of RAM, at least to a Korean site Hankyung.

Reported by USwitch, this would mean an improvement on the Galaxy Note 2, and triple the power of what was fist exhibited for the first Note. For those looking at innovation as a key determinant in the standards of device improvement, this would be it.

Samsung has also recently announced its Exyos Octa-Core Processor, and there has been talk that there will be at least two iterations of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3--one having the Snapdragon 800 processor or the Exynos Octa-Core, depending on which country you are in.

The latest in Android OS

Android 4.3 is the latest update in the line's OS, and in late July, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been rumoured to come out with the Android 4.3 already pre-installed.

The leak was based on a piece of information from Samsung R&D in India, and, according to GSM Arena, this was an update that was going to be rolled out eventually for the rest of the Galaxy flagship. Given that there is still a month left until the reveal and that the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has already been confirmed to be getting the Android 4.3, there's no reason why the latest Note device won't come out with the update at launch.

Stylish stylus

The trademark of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3--and hence the name--comes from the fact that it acts like an electronic notebook, with the stylus making it easier to navigate through and use as a planner, a notepad, or simply something that you can do more than just type with.

EWeek reports that while previous rumours have pointed to the possibility that the stylus won't be coming to the Galaxy Note 3, this would effectively turn the device into a tablet, which would ruin the whole point of its design in the first place.

This is why, regardless of the rumours, Samsung should be aware of what makes the Note device a niche in its own market. Perhaps an improved stylus design or functionality can up the ante even more.

13-megapixel camera

As early as June, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been touted to have a 13-megapixel camera by Picasa snap. According to Know Your Mobile, this was confirmed by a leaked image that had supposedly been taken with the handset.

The added optical image stabilisation would be a nice addition, considering that it has already produced a 16-megapixel sensor with 10x optical zoom for the Galaxy S4 Zoom.

The iPhone 5S has been rumoured to have 10-megapixel or even a 12-megapixel camera, and while a 13-megalpixel is still below Nokia's celebrated 41-megapixel PureView camera, it can still best Apple's next big device in terms of numbers.
