5 Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Features to Win Against iPhone 6
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be unveiled in a week's time come September 4. New rumours are milling out!
Most of the speculations are great improvements on the device, and with the advent of Apple's iPhone 6 or iPhone 5S also slated for September, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 should have some of these rumoured specs in order to stand a great fighting ground.
4K Recording
The latest rumours are circulating on the 4k video recording support for the device. This is the first that Samsung has been rumoured to have included in the device, as it seemed pretty hi-tech back then.
But GSM Arena reports that the information comes from The Korea Economic Daily, though this has not been confirmed by Samsung to date. It can be that Korean company is trying to keep in competition with Sony, whose latest release, the Xperia Z1, may also sport the same feature.
Hi-Fi Sound
Accompanying the report on 4K video recording, there is also the possibility of a better quality audio for the device.
In particular, a 24-bit audio will be replacing the standard 16-but audio quality, which can be a great way to complement the 4K video recording feature.
This will also be a great way to slowly build up Samsung's gaming credibility, since Apple seems to be heading towards improving its gaming capabilities with the iOS 7.
5.7-inch Screen
Perhaps the biggest secret with the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is its main design, as most leaks have covered the back cover, the battery, or concept prototypes.
But if a leak cited by Phone Arena is to be believed, the Note 3 may be coming with a 5.7-inch screen, putting it squarely in the phablet arena just a few centimeters below the likes of Nokia's rumoured Bandit.
The report states that the increase in screen size may be attributed to the smaller bezels on the side, almost putting it at an edge-to-edge display if it weren't for that slight sliver of a bezel. However, this design is based on the front frame of the device, without the rest of the body in place, so the design is still, for the most part, undefined.
S Pen Upgrade
A less talked about, but necessary and defining feature of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is the S pen--without it, the Galaxy Note 3 is pretty much just a phablet at this point.
So far, there have been no major rumours involving the S Pen, though there have been hints that this unique feature will be seeing some major upgrades.
According to Gotta Be Mobile, Samsung's Developer Conference happening on October 27 features two sessions on the S Pen alone. One of the sessions even offers a detailed overview of what new things can be expected of the S Pen.
Considering that this is a technically a major differentiator of the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 compared to other devices, making necessary changes and upgrades to the S Pen is understandable.
Galaxy Gear
An official device that will also be unveiled alongside the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, the Galaxy Gear is Samsung's bet against the iWatch. The Galaxy Gear has already been confirmed for a September unveiling by a Samsung executive.
The only detail known about the device is that it will not have a flexible display, but may still be subject to change since Samsung is currently calling it a concept device, reports CNet.
Wearable technology has been predicted to hit off come 2014, and if Samsung is not willing to lose out on the innovation, putting the Samsung Galaxy Gear as a complementary technology to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may be one way to one-up Apple's iPhone 6.
Where do you think the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 stands in its competition with Apple's iPhone 5S or iPhone 6? Will you be convinced to buy this device if these features were in it?
