Though the final decision for the final roster of judges for reality television show, “The X-Factor” is expected to be finalized in weeks - - maybe months - - the list of the judges to sit with music mogul, Simon Cowell is getting, quite longer.

Paula Abdul has been a strong favorite and a recurring name on the list - - with Cowell’s proclamation of admiration for the fellow Idol judge and how excited he is to be working with her again, albeit it’s not his own decision.

But other names have propped up recently who are reportedly in the running to be the show’s judges.

After Paula Abdul, singer Maria Carey is reportedly being considered for the job, as well as singers George Michael, former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger. Entrepreneur and singer-actress, Jessica Simpson has also been reported this week to be rooting out for the high-profile job.

Even the name of legally embattled actress, Lindsay Lohan came out as another one being eyed to sit beside Simon on the judging panel in mid-February. Though, unlike other singers mentioned above, Lohan's possible involvement on the realitive show was strongly denied by a spokesman of the upcoming show.

Simon Cowell has maintained however that none of the ‘hopefuls’ and candidate judges have already sealed a deal with the show’s producers and creators.

"We've spoken to lots of people. I've spoken to Paula...we've taken it down to a smaller group of people and she (Abdul) is in that panel. But you know, it's more than me who makes the decision," Simon Cowell was quoted as telling Access Hollywood.

The “X-Factor” US edition is slated to debut on Fox in the fall of 2011. A staggering amount of $5 million prize awaits the winner plus a record contract with Cowell’s own venture with Sony.

For now, only one judge is sure to sit on the judging panel. It’s Simon Cowell.
