The spokesman for the upcoming reality TV show, “The X-Factor” has cleared the air over the weekend amidst online speculation that the show’s producers have their eyes set on beleaguered actress, Lindsay Lohan, as one of the four-member judging panel.

According to The Associated Press, Ann-Marie Thomson of The X-Factor clarified that Fox has not been in touch with Lindsay’s camp despite escalating rumors that the network has been wooing the actress for the job.

The show, created by British television mogul, Simon Cowell has earlier admitted that he hoped to sit with Paula Abdul in the judging panel. Cowell has repeatedly said during interviews that he is looking forward to working with American Idol former co-judge.

With Fox’s statement on Lohan’s judging stint on “The X-Factor", it looks like the Mean Girls star will not have a chance to sit with Simon and Paula, should Fox accede to Simon’s wishes to work with Paula again. The X-Factor is scheduled to hit the airwaves in the fall.
