Acer has announced its latest lineup of devices running on the most recent OS by Microsoft. On Monday, the Taiwanese hardware vendor introduced Aspire R 14, a convertible notebook, and Aspire Z3-700, an all-in-one PC, at a press conference in Taipei.

“With Windows 10, we can now deliver a unique and consistent experience across our comprehensive product portfolio, be it notebooks, desktops, tablets or smartphones, and empower users to do great things with more personal and human technology,” said Acer CEO and Corporate President Jason Chen in a press release.

Both devices are optimised for the Windows 10 experience and users can enjoy most of it through Cortana, Continuum, Microsoft Edge and Xbox, wrote Terry Myerson, Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Windows and Devices Group, on his official Windows blog.

A dual hinge that rotates 360 degrees makes this convertible notebook flexible in four usage modes. Once paired with Continuum, the 14-inch display screen can be folded to use as a tablet or turned around 180 degrees to use as a PC. The Laptop mode can be changed into Display mode by just hiding the keyboard at the back.

The innovative device is powered by a 6th generation Intel Core processor and houses up to 8 GB of RAM. It also has solid state drives for augmenting speed and power. The device is 18.5 mm thick and weighs 3.5 lbs. Acer has incorporated MU-MIMO technology to enhance download speeds at home and even on the go.

From late October, the Aspire R 14 will be available in North America starting at US$699 (AU$954). In Europe, Middle East and Africa, it will be available with a price tag of €799 (AU$1,237).

The all-in-one device is especially designed for users on the move. The built-in battery lasts for five hours and allows users to enjoy a desktop environment at different positions anywhere in the house. The device features a 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) touch screen and will be shipped with a Stylus.

The 15.6 mm thick portable all-in-one PC comes with two kick stands that allow the device to appear like a tablet. Powered by Intel Pentium or Celeron processors, the moveable device offers up to 8 GB of RAM. By the end of 2015, the Acer Aspire Z3-700 will be available in Europe, Middle East and Africa at €599 (AU$928).

The finest Windows 10 experience

Both the Aspire R 14 and Aspire Z3-700 will be shipped with Acer TrueHarmony Plus technology with Dolby Audio that will create an immersive audio experience. The Acer BluelightShield will help users effectively reduce blue light emissions that cause eye strain. Both devices will have the best Cortana experience and feature enhanced digital signal processing that efficiently eliminates the background noise and “increases speech accuracy”.

Acer also demonstrated the 5.5-inch Liquid Jade Primo smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile on board. The device will be shipped with Continuum, thus enabling users to enjoy a PC-like experience.
