Allison Road has been cancelled on Kickstarter, as developer Lilith plans to continue the project with Team17. Lilith

“Allison Road,” a game similar to Konami’s P.T. of “Silent Hills,” has been cancelled on its Kickstarter campaign. Developer Lilith Ltd. announced its decision to publish the game in a more traditional method.

The crowdfunding campaign was officially cancelled on Oct. 12, with 10 days still on the calendar for the completion of the required $384,000 funding. But with the announcement of the cancellation, Lilith also confirmed that the game will instead be published by Team17. To date, the publisher is best known for its work with artillery strategy game “Worms.”

"We have decided to withdraw the Kickstarter campaign to allow us to commit 100 percent to an opportunity that will give us the chance as a team to create the best game possible," Lilith Ltd. announced on the Kickstarter page. Lilith also stated that it was overwhelmed by the funding and support received from the crowd.

The “Allison Road” Kickstarter campaign was already at $224,000 since its inception on Sept. 21. Lilith chose Team17 because of its expertise and experience as game publisher and developer. Lilith Ltd. feels that working closely with the company would help unlock the complete creative palette of the game.

The first-person horror game has been compared to "P.T." In the game, the player takes up the role of an unnamed protagonist who wakes up with no memory. Currently in the pre-alpha stage, it takes place in a British townhouse. From the images of the gameplay, “Allison Road” takes horror and exploration on a whole new level, with the goal of uncovering the mysteries in the game. According to IGN, the environment, even the outside setting, have a connection to the story and build up the overall horror effect of the game.

The original release date for the game was speculated to be set before the end of 2016 for PC. This would then be followed by releases on Mac, Linux and console ports, reported GameSpot. Since a proper release date has not been announced by Lilith, it cannot be confirmed whether the previous schedule remains in place.

Funders who have pledged for “Allison Road” will still be involved in the game. Lilith had promised that the team will be looking at ways on how they can be involved even without the Kickstarter campaign in effect.
