Play through six Marvel movies in 'Lego Marvel's Avengers'
When “Lego Marvel’s Avengers” was first announced, many were wondering how the game would match the scope of “Lego Marvel Super Heroes,” with only two films to pull from. It turns out the solution to that problem is to add the events of four more Marvel movies to add more characters to unlock and settings for the player to go through.
A report from Kotaku has confirmed that “Lego Marvel’s Avengers” won’t just feature the two blockbuster films helmed by Joss Whedon, but will also have: “Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Iron Man 3,” “Thor: The Dark World” and “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.” This confirms that the game will have a lengthy campaign mode and a number of unlockable characters like Malakith, Winter Soldier and many more.
In addition to the characters from the movie, IGN confirms that the game will also have a number of lesser-known Marvel characters who will be making their debut in the game. Aside from fan favourites like Ms. Marvel, America Chavez and the All-New Captain America players will also get to see Amadeus Cho, Fin Fang Foom, Wiccan and the new female Thor. There’s also a good chance that these characters will be playable.
The inclusion of Amadeus Cho is an interesting one, since it was recently revealed that he was the “Totally Awesome” Hulk. It’s unknown if the character will possess this ability in the game, but it’s possible that he comes to the game as downloadable content (DLC). For now, fans can play “Marvel Puzzle Quest” to gain access to the “Totally Awesome” Hulk.
Telltale Games have stated that there will be 250 characters from all across the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the new comics. So far the only comic characters who might not be making appearances are the X-men and Fantastic Four, since Fox owns the movie rights to those characters. Oddly enough, those characters did appear in “Lego Marvel Super Heroes.”
“Lego Marvel’s Avengers” will be coming next year, on Jan. 26 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PS3, PS Vita, Xbox 360, Wii U, Nintendo 3DS and PC. Warner Bros. has hinted that the Vita version may feature an actual open world, which should be fairly interesting.
