'The Amazing Spider-Man 3' plot details: It was supposed to focus on Peter Parker's emotional state, says Andrew Garfield
Andrew Garfield has said that “The Amazing Spider-Man 3” was supposed to focus on Peter Parker’s emotional state after the death of Gwen Stacey (Emma Stone). The actor has reportedly started taking part in workshop for the film.
“We thought to kind of start from the base level, the foundational level of where have we left Peter and where do we want to see him go and what’s logical. And how do we build upon where we left off with this deep, desperate moment with Gwen? So, yeah, we got to some pretty heavy places,” he said, reported Cinema Blend.
He added that he was thrilled to explore the emotional side of his character and to be “involved in it on the ground level”. He revealed that Alex Kultzman was to write the film.
In “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Parker ends his Spider-Man career after he fails to save Stacey. He later remembers the speech by Stacey and fights “the Rhino” as Spider-Man.”
“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” had received mixed reviews and made $708 million worldwide. It was the least successful film in the franchise and was released in 2D and 3D on May 2, 2014.
There are reportedly no plans to green lit “The Amazing Spider-Man 3.” And Marvel has moved on with the plans to reboot the franchise. The film scheduled to be released in 2017 features Tom Holland in the lead role. It will show Parker as a kid who does not fit in the school, as Marvel president Kevin Feige said in his previous interview to Collider.
Feige also revealed that Holland will have a lot of dialogues as Spider-Man in the film. He will reportedly fight evil and will speak a lot. Jon Watts is directing “Spider-Man” from the screenplay by John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein. It opens July 27, 2016.
