Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 Tablet’s Successor With Snapdragon 805 Processor Likely Sighted in AnTuTu Benchmark Testing
AnTuTu has recently unearthed a brand new and yet-to-be-announced Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet's successor. Many new smartphones, phablets and tablets go through the famed AnTuTu benchmark testing to ascertain the under the hood performance of the device. However, the benchmark testing app also spots new unannounced devices from time to time.
According to a recent hunch, a reportedly new next-generation tablet of Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 is in the offing. The recently spotted device comes with a new processor and a new version of Android OS. Apart from these differences, the device is likely a replica of the Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet, according to GForGames via AnTuTu.
Going by the reports, the upcoming Amazon tablet will be powered by a superior quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and an impressive Adreno 420 GPU. It is worth reminding that, the presently available Kindle Fire HDX tablet sports a Snapdragon 800 SoC, Krait 400 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and Adreno 330 GPU. When it comes to OS, the upcoming device will reportedly run on Android 4.4.4. But GForGames opines that the OS could be a forked version of Android similar to Fire OS 3.0 Mojito UI of the current model.
The common features between the devices include the same 8.9-inch display bundled with a screen resolution of 1,600 x 2,560. Also, the tablet houses 2 GB of RAM. In addition, the device will feature an 8 MP rear-facing camera and a 1 MP front-facing shooter unit.
Other features of Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 include 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of internal storage capacity with no microSD card slot for further expansion. Moreover, the current device comes in Wi-Fi only and 4G LTE variants.
Nevertheless, Amazon has not confirmed the existence of a successor to Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 tablet thus far.
