With the iPhone 6 release date approaching, Apple is reportedly in the process of unveiling a refreshed series of 15-inch MacBook Pro models with Retina. According to reports, the upcoming MacBook Pro line of devices will be powered by a much faster Haswell processor in addition to housing 16 GB of RAM.

This information is based on an image listing the upcoming devices from Apple's Chongqing store in China, says BBS Feng via MacRumors. Going by the image, there will be two MacBook Pro laptops with standard configurations that can be purchased for 14,288 Chinese Yuan (roughly translates to US$2305 and AU$2459) and 18,688 Chinese Yuan (roughly translates to US$3021 and AU$3216).

Apparently, the price is same as the present-day price of 15-inch notebook series in China. If the reports are true, Apple might maintain the current price for the new MacBook Pro variants rather than reducing the price of the refreshed models.

One of the models comes with a powerful Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz and 16 GB of RAM. It is worth noting that, the currently available base variant of 15-inch Retina MacBook Pro comes packed with Intel Core i7 clocked at 2.0 GHz and 8 GB of RAM.

The other new variant will be powered by an Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.5 GHz and the same 16 GB of RAM. This is an improved version of the currently available Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.3 GHz.

In addition to processor configuration, both the new variants will house the same graphics configuration. One of the variants will reportedly come with Intel's Iris Pro graphics card and the other will feature a combination of Iris Pro and NVIDIA's GeForce GT 750M.

Apart from the two new models listed above, there is one more high-end variant available for 23,688 Chinese Yuan (roughly translates to US$3827 and AU$4076). This one features the powerful Intel Core i7 processor clocked at 2.8 GHz and 16 GB of RAM. Furthermore, the device will also house 1 TB of flash storage capacity. And the graphics configuration includes Intel's Iris Pro graphics and NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M combination.

MacRumors also opines that Apple's 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro series might also come with an updated version shortly. Owing to the fact that Intel introduced new Core i5 Haswell processor in addition to the newly refreshed Intel Core i7 Haswell processor.

In addition, the 12-inch Retina MacBook might see a release date only in 2015 because of the delay in production of Intel's Broadwell chips.
