Finally the giant screen Samsung Galaxy View tablet is up for pre-orders in the U.S. at US$599.99 (AU$852). With video optimised UI and long battery life, the 18.4-inch device is designed to provide “the best mobile experience.”

The tablet can be ordered from Samsung's official website as well as other online retail stores including Amazon.com with differences in shipping dates. The official website of Samsung promises to deliver within 1-3 business days, whereas Amazon Prime will deliver the tablet in 2 days. Furthermore, the White colour model is only available on Amazon.

In the meantime, B&H is yet to get the stock of the device which is ideal for streaming movies, gaming and browsing. Best Buy seems to have an edge over others. The retailer has the tablet in the store and customers can expect it to be out of the warehouse in just 1 day. Adorama and BrandsMart also listed the tablet for pre-orders.

The Galaxy View is a small personal TV which features an 18.4-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution resulting in a pixel density of 123pixels per inch. The massive TV-tablet hybrid device measures 275.8 mm x 451.8 mm x 11.9 mm and weighs 5.8 pounds. Powered by a 1.6GHz octa-core Samsung Exynos 7580 processor and 2 GB of RAM, the tablet is available with either 32 GB or 64 GB of internal storage as well as a micro SD slot, reports GSM Arena.

The easy to use interface of the giant screen tablet makes navigation smooth and effortless. With the humongous 5,700 mAh battery on board, Samsung claims that even after playing games, surfing internet and streaming videos, the device will ensure 8 hours of battery life. Running on Android 5.1 Lollipop Media UX skin on top , the Galaxy View tablet supports Bluetooth 4.1 BLE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac and an LTE model with a nano-SIM slot.
