Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middle weight contender Anderson Silva spent much of the past year talking about the road to recovery from his much talked about leg injury. After all, followers of the mixed martial arts (MMA) world cannot easily erase from their mental faculties the image of Silva’s leg snapping into two as it collided with Chris Weidman’s shin.

More than a year removed from the horrific injury, Silva is ready to move on to other topics and is done discusses his leg. The Brazilian jiu-jitsu legend focuses himself to the upcoming bout with Nick Diaz and has no lingering paranoia on the injury resurfacing again on fight night.

"So, this is part of my life I won't talk to any more because my leg's good now," Silva said during a media event covered by Fox Sports. "I train hard now and everything is newer. I don't talk any more on this because this is the past. Sorry."

Nevertheless, it is understandable that observers are concerned about the leg. After all, much attention was given to it with a platoon of doctors offering expert opinion on the recovery to the snippets of Silva showing the leg returning to full strength. Silva adds that he had a normal training regimen leading up to the bout with Diaz, but also admitted that he gave more attention to his leg during the early part of his training. This is normal since he was not allowed activity on it for an extended period and normally, his leg lost its usual strength.

Now that he is fully healthy again, Silva revealed that he is the same fighter that he once was, only “faster, stronger, and happier.” He stressed that he has sharpened his techniques which will be on full display during his comeback tour in the UFC. This includes the same ferocious leg kicks he was unleashing on opponents prior to going down.

Silva and Diaz will square off this Sunday at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada in UFC 183, the outfit’s second pay-per-view event of the year. Both fighters treat the match as a comeback vehicle into superstardom. Silva is the heavy favourite to come out on top with the unpredictable and undersized Diaz always lurking to deliver a surprise.
