Anderson Silva claimed another victory and defeated Nick Diaz at the UFC 183 but “The Spider” revealed that he needs to speak with his family before he decides whether to retire or not. The 39-year-old, who made a comeback inside the cage after 13 months of break because of a serious leg injury, went back to his room after the fight and saw his son Khalil crying. Silva revealed that he got scared when his son talked to him.

From MMAFighting:

"My son talked to me serious," Silva said. "When I talked to my son, my son cried. 'Dad, stop, please. Back home. Please. You don't need more fights.'"

“The Spider” is undeniably happy with his victory revealing that it has been his mission to win because people in Brazil were waiting for it. However, according to the fighter who is considered by many as greatest UFC titleholder of all time, his family was not a big fan of him continuing to fight. The former middleweight champion has already cemented his legacy and he didn’t have much to prove. Silva said that he needs to talk with his family because although he loves his job, his family is more important to him.

UFC President Dana White said that Anderson Silva will earn a title shot against Chris Weidman if he beats Diaz, but Silva himself didn’t agree with that. The Brazilian revealed that he needed two or three wins before he becomes a title contender again.

When asked what he would do if he were the sole responsible for deciding for his retirement, Anderson Silva revealed that he would probably not retire, but then again, he reiterated that the choice will not be his alone.

Meanwhile, Dana White discussed Nick Diaz’ future at the post-fight press conference and said that he does not know what Diaz is going to do. He revealed that Diaz made a lot of money at the UFC 183 and he might not be visible for three years.
