The AT&T LG Thrill 4G released in 2011 running Android 2.2 Froyo received an update in 2012 with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. For loyal owners of this LG handset, AT&T made an agreement with LG for the device to be updated to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

AT&T released an official support document which details the agreement with LG to have the phone updates and also contains information on the additional software content that will appear alongside with the new ICS update.

Changelog includes:

  • QuickMemo: Captures any screen image on the device and users can add comments, drawings and humour, and share it online.
  • Cheese Shutter: Takes photos or self-portraits simply by saying "cheese".
  • New Lock Screen Actions: Jumps directly to a specific application without unlocking the device.
  • Home Screen Folder and Favourites Tray: Drags one app or shortcut to another to create a group folder.
  • Redesigned Gallery App and Photo Editor: Manages, shows, and shares gallery photos and videos easier.
  • Quick Setting Buttons: Allows setup of shortcut toggles from the notification bar for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Sound, Airplane mode, etc.

There is no Over-the-Air update for the device. LG Thrill 4G owners must have LG's Mobile Support Tool to install the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich firmware.
