The Android 4.4.2 KitKat update started rolling out for the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy S4 from Canadian carriers. Rogers, Telus and Bell subscribers will soon get the much awaited Android OS via OTA update.

The Canadian carrier Rogers recently announced that it will begin to roll out the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update on Thursday and users are now reporting that they are getting the much awaited OS update already.

The download size of the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update via OTA is at 437MB. Basically, users need to be on the latest software build to be able to download the Android 4.4.2 KitKat but it must be noted that the update will be staggered.

According to the XDA Developers Forum, the Android 4.4 software is the I337MVLUFNC1 build and users can manually prompt the update by going to Settings > General > About device > Software update on their Galaxy S4 handsets. Thus far, there is no change log but users must expect similar Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.2 KitKat improvements and enhancements.

The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the Samsung Galaxy devices started in February and now, Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 models have already received the newest OS in various locations and different carriers. Most recently, the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 from T-Mobile was updated to the Android 4.4.2 KitKat in the U.S. and the Galaxy Note 3 from the French carrier SFR. On the other hand, the international Android 4.4.2 KitKat update roll out remains far from over.

Meanwhile, the Canadian carrier Rogers also announced that the Android 4.4.2 KitKat update for the Galaxy Note 3 will roll out late this month but there has been no word on when other carriers in Canada will start the update for Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 devices. However, now that the rollout has already started in Canada, it is likely that other Canadian carriers will follow the Android 4.4 KitKat for the Galaxy S4 and Galaxy Note 3 update pretty soon as well.
