Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For HTC Desire 816 And HTC Desire EYE

Very recently, HTC rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC Desire EYE in its home country Taiwan. However, now, HTC UK has apparently confirmed the official rollout of Android 5.0 Lollipop update for HTC Desire 816 and Desire Eye via Twitter. This software update reportedly comes with new Lollipop features, Material Design and performance improvements. In any case, readers should note that this update does not come with HTC’s latest Sense 7 UI; therefore, the UI version should apparently read Sense 6.5. However, there is a possibility that the 7.0 launcher will be rolled out eventually along with Android 5.1 Lollipop update, according to GSM Arena.

Meanwhile, the HTC One and HTC One M8 have already received the Lollipop update. The HTC Desire E8 and HTC Butterfly S have also started receiving the OS update. According to GSM Arena, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for LG G2 under T-Mobile network has reportedly been rolled out. In any case, T-Mobile says the new software update should have reached all LG G2 units sold on or before May 22.

The LG G2 owners who could not wait for the OTA update can manually check for the OS update by navigating to Settings -> General -> About phone -> Update center -> System updates. On the other hand, the G2 users can also use their PC or laptop to install the update via LG's Mobile Support Tool. Along with the usual Android Lollipop update changes, LG's UI overlay changes will also be apparent, says GSM Arena.

In order to download the new software, users apparently need at least 50 percent of battery charge, in addition to having at least 617 MB of free internal space. Upon installing the update, the software version should apparently show the following: D80130b.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For Nexus 4

The Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Nexus 4 from 2012 is apparently being rolled out now. The new Lollipop update reportedly brings in several key changes like the new quick settings menu and improvements to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings. In addition, Nexus 4 users can now handle the notifications via system apps and others using the Interruptions option located in the Priority profile settings, GSM Arena writes.

Speaking of security details, the new Device Protection feature will apparently allow Nexus 4 users to locate the stolen device. In case the Nexus 4 lands in the wrong hands, the factory reset setting would apparently expect the actual user’s login credentials. On the other hand, the addition of HD Voice feature will reportedly allow for clearer voice calls than before, notes GSM Arena.
