Sony has apparently started sending out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3. Furthermore, the NVIDIA Shield tablet and Shield Potable are also set for Android 5.1 Lollipop update shortly.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Sony Xperia T2 Ultra

Following the footsteps of the Xperia Z line-up of devices, GSM Arena says, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia T2 Ultra has been rolled out. Apparently, the Lollipop update specific to the Xperia T2 Ultra was certified in March and this update is spreading like a wild fire in Czech Republic, Germany and Taiwan.

On the other hand, readers should note that, only the single-SIM variant with model number (D5303) is reportedly receiving Android 5.0 Lollipop update at this point. Therefore, the software update will be headed to other global countries in the following days or weeks, notes GSM Arena.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Update For Sony Xperia C3

According to GSM Arena, the Android 5.0 Lollipop update for Sony Xperia C3 has apparently been rolled out in the home country Taiwan. In any case, the update will be made available to many countries very soon. However, Sony has reportedly rolled out the software package to only the single-SIM model (D2533).

Notably, both Sony Xperia T2 Ultra and Xperia C3 will apparently show Android 5.0.2 Lollipop upon installing the update. Plus, both the models should show the following build number after receiving the update: 19.3.A.0.470.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Update For NVIDIA Shield Tablet And Shield Potable

According to Phone Arena, NVIDIA is reportedly gearing up to release the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Shield tablet and the Shield Portable gaming console. At this point, the NVIDIA Shield Portable is running on the Android 4.4 KitKat and therefore, the device will reportedly be upgraded straight to Android 5.1 Lollipop. The actual roll out date has not been revealed by the NVIDIA forum administrators (Link 1, Link 2), however, the same site says the roll out date could be sooner.

Meanwhile, the NVIDIA Shield tablet apparently runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Therefore, the minor version change of Android 5.1 Lollipop update will not offer any significant change to the user experience. The new update will apparently fix performance and responsiveness issues introduced because of the Android 5.0 Lollipop update.
