The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge users under T-Mobile network are in for a surprise. As it turns out, a new OTA update based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop has silently been rolled out. However, no other mobile network carriers are offering this update to their respective S6 Edge users. Meanwhile, the much-loved “Guest Mode” feature will reportedly be back to Samsung handsets via the Android 5.1 Lollipop update.

According to a report picked up by Sam Mobile, XDA Developers user Sunderwear remarked about the new Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge under T-Mobile. Android 5.1 Lollipop Update: Guest Mode For Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge
Moving on to Android 5.1 Lollipop news, the “Guest Mode” feature elevates the Android device user experience from the rivals. This mode reportedly lets a single handset to be used by multiple users. This particular feature was added way back when Android 4.2 Jelly Bean was ruling the roost. However, the feature was exclusive to tablets and not to smartphones/phablets. With the Android 5.0 Lollipop on board, Google rolled out the Guest Mode feature to smartphones as well. In any case, Samsung did not approve of the feature and hence, many devices from the South Korean tech giant did not feature this Guest Mode, says Sam Mobile.
Therefore, the latest Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge are also missing this feature. However, the good news is that this feature will be back with a bang via the upcoming Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Also, there is a good chance that this feature might make it to other Samsung devices in the near future.
According to Sam Mobile, an early build of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy S6 Edge has been ferreted out. Therefore, upon playing around the build, Sam Mobile found out that the new Guest Mode for smartphones works as expected. This means that every Android device user will be able to have a personal space on a single device. Hence, the personal guest mode will allow the user to install his/her favourite apps and personalise the homescreen. Adding a cherry on top, individuals can also secure their mode with their fingerprint. In the meantime, there’s no confirmation available on the release date of the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, at this point.
