The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is likely to arrive for most flagships smartphones of 2015 before the end of the year. Xiaomi, Lenovo and Huawei are working on Android 6.0 upgrade for their smartphones.

Xiaomi is yet to make an official announcement on the Android 6.0 roll out for its smartphones. According to GSM Arena, Xiaomi smartphones like the Mi Note 2, Redmi 2, Redmi 2 Prime, Mi 4i, Mi 4, Mi Note, and Mi Note Pro will be upgraded to Android 6.0.

Other handset like Mi 4C, Redmi Note, and Redmi 1S will also receive the latest Android build. There is no information available on the exact release timeframe for the above mentioned Xiaomi smartphones.

In the previous week, Lenovo’s Android Upgrade Matrix support page indicated that Lenovo K3 Note, A7000 Plus and A7000 would be upgraded to Android 6.0 in September next year. The newly launched Lenovo Vibe P1 and Vibe S1 were also listed to receive the Android 6.0 update by June in 2016.

According to NDTV, the listing of the aforementioned five smartphones was removed from Lenovo’s support page. The company may have done so to revise the delayed arrival of Android 6.0 for its popular smartphones.

Huawei has officially confirmed through a tweet that it will be releasing Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for its Honor line of smartphones The Honor 4C, Honor 4X, Honor 6, Honor 6 Plus and Honor 7 will be upgraded to Android 6.0 in February 2016.

Other Huawei devices such as Ascend P8, Ascend P8 Max, Ascend Mate S, Ascend Mate 7, Ascend G7 and MediaPad X2 are also expected to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update soon. However, Huawei is yet to make an official announcement of Android 6.0 release timeframe for these devices. The only handset currently running on Android 6.0 is the Google Nexus 6P.
