Apple, Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is very secretive with the details of their devices. However, it seems that the tech giant hinted the release date and features of the upcoming iPhone 5 through the iOS 6 webpage in Apple's website.

Apple is usually tight lipped about the details of iPhone 5 but when they revealed their latest iOS 6 update, which is said to be released in the fall, they revealed some features that are expected to be on the new handset. Below are some of the possible features of the new iPhone 5 via iOS 6.

Answering/Declining Calls - Users will now have the option to answer or decline calls. Users may send a text message from a choice of pre-programmed options if you wish not to be disturbed at the moment. Users will also be able to remind themselves to return the missed calls later.

iMaps - iPhone 5 will be the first device to feature Apple's newly-developed maps.

Integrated Facebook - After the integration of Twitter on the iPhone 4S last year, Apple announced that it will integrate Facebook in iOS 6. iPhone 5 will definitely have this new feature.

FaceTime - Apple gleefully announced that FaceTime can now be used over cellular connections so users no longer have to rely on Wi-Fi, which means you can use it when you want and wherever you want.

Other features to be expected in the new iPhone 5 are improved Siri, NFC support and 4G/LTE connectivity. The latest rumor about the iPhone 5 is it will be equipped with quad core processor A6 chipto be at par with its competitors like Samsung.

Apple also hinted that iPhone 5 will be released in fall most likely at the same time as iOS 6. This is the best time to roll out the new device like what it did last year with the iPhone 4S and iOS 5. However, there are also speculations that Apple will have an early release date around August.

It seems that tech giant Apple is threatened by the continuously rising sales of Samsung Galaxy S3 as well as the piling rumors that its rival company will be releasing another smartphone this fall. Apple may be hoping to cut some into Samsung's profit's and stop one of its biggest rivals from claiming a larger share of the market by pushing its release date up by two months. However, as with any smartphone release date news reports are often unreliable.

Australia is one of the strong markets of Apple. However, there is a decline in the marketshare of Apple in the latest report from Kantar Worldpanel ComTech. The marketshare for Apple iOS has fallen from 35.6% to 35.3%. While Android's marketshare surges on a year-on-year basis from 32.2% in 2011 to 52% in 2012.

Apple is still mum about the details of its much awaited smartphone.
