Rumor has it that Apple is going to launch its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7, with a 4-inch variant. Ming-Chi Kuo, a tech analyst, has pointed out that there is a high possibility that the Cupertino-based company will be opting to skip the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, and launch the iPhone 7, according to Day Herald.

Kuo is an analyst who works for KGI Securities and has maintained a bit of a streak when it comes to getting access to Apple’s newest plans.

Apart from that, The Week has also reported that Apple is already looking for parts that are meant for a 4-inch device. The iPhone 6 is at 4.7 inches, while the iPhone 6 Plus is at 5.5 inches.

Furthermore, in addition to the iPhone 7 coming out with a 4-inch version, the latest string of rumors about the company’s next flagship smartphone is that it will be sporting a 12-megapixel camera that will have smaller pixels to come up with pictures that have higher quality, according to Network World.

It must be noted, however, that Apple’s past few iPhone models, since the 4S was launched into the smartphone market in 2011, have had only 8-megapixel cameras. Kevin Wong of IHS China has confirmed that that will not be the case with Apple’s next smartphone.

Kuo has also pointed out that the biggest difference between the current iPhone model and the next one is that the latter will be boasting of a Force Touch display. At present, this kind of technology can be enjoyed on the new MacBook and Apple Watch, and can be utilized by smartphone users when the iPhone 7 is launched.

What makes the new Force Touch display different from its predecessor is that, instead of measuring the pressure that is applied on the screen, it will sense the contact area of the finger so that there is a much finer distinction.
