Apple MacBook Pro 2016 update: Speculations indicate new design featuring touch-enabled keyboard without keys
Apple is speculated to release 2016 MacBook Pro in two screen sizes of 13-inch and 15-inch in June this year. It is also rumoured to be working on 12-inch 2016 MacBook notebook. Speculations suggest that the upcoming MacBooks will be arriving with touch-sensitive keyboard.
In September 2015, the Cupertino company had applied for a patent with the subject “force-sensitive input structure for an electronic device.” The patent was revealed to the world on April 7. It is nothing but an innovative input technology that features a touch-sensitive typing surface that will not be equipped any physical keys. According to Mashable, Apple has dubbed this new technology as “zero travel.”
The touch-sensitive surface will be able to recognize different pressures of the users’ fingers and deliver appropriate haptic feedback. Users will have the power to configure the touch-sensitive keyboard that will enable users to make separate segments on its large surface for letters, numeric and special keys. Users can also make a separate section for another trackpad.
The touch-sensitive keyboard will be equipped with backlight enabled micro-perforations for all the keys. Since the keys can automatically illuminate while typing, it will assist users to type with minimal mistakes. As the keyboard will not feature any moving parts, there will be low risk of parts failure.
The Cupertino company has filed numerous patents in the past, but not all of them are made available on the devices that are sold in the market. Moreover, it can take many years to release a product with new features that are made public through patent applications.
Rumours indicate that the MacBook Pro 2016 is likely to get unleashed at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 event that will be held between June 13 to 17. Speculations are rife that the arrival of MacBook Pro 2016 models may result in the axing of MacBook Air series this year, BGR reported.
