At an official event held by Apple last month, the iPhone 6 maker announced to launch the Apple Watch that was scheduled to go on sale from April 24. Now the company has confirmed that the Apple watch will not be available on stores on April 24, the release date announced by the company, as per latest reports.

According to a report on Trusted Reviews, Apple has confirmed that its Smart Watch will not be available in stores anytime soon and it did not give not any timeline on when the first wearable can be expected in stores. However, the first pre-orders will start shipping on April 24 but many who have already pre-ordered the Smart Watch will have to wait longer to their wearable product from Apple, reports the publication.

As per a report on 9 to 5 Mac, the shipping time for the Apple Watch is delayed by four to six weeks. In the U.S., the 38 mm Stainless Steel Case with Black Classic Buckle is the only model that can be shipped April 24 to May 8, reports 9 to 5 Mac.

Apple Smart Watch: High demand, limited supply?

This is not for the first time that Apple has failed to meet high demand for its new product. A similar situation was witnessed when the company did not have enough inventory to meet its consumers’ demand for iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, reports Business Insider. As per the report, Apple is facing difficulties to process and ship the Smart Watch to each customer.

According to Slice Intelligence’s projections, Apple recorded almost 1 million U.S. watch pre-orders on April 10. Slice Intelligence also claims, over two-thirds of customers purchased the Apple Watch Sport with the 42 mm Space Gray case on the first day.

Now there is high demand for the Applewatch with limited supply and this has given an opportunity to online retailers to fix a higher price for this wearable tech product. As per a Gizmodo report, there were hundreds listings of the Apple watch on eBay. eBay is offering lot of deals but many sellers have priced the Apple Watch at hundreds of dollars above the retail price. The buyers will get a guarantee on product validity with Apple receipts and pre-order forms, reports Gizmodo.
