Apple has announced it’s currently working on a new Apple TV remote app that allows full Siri remote functionality. And the company guarantees the new app will make it easier to use Apple TV.

Apple intends to launch the iOS remote app for the Apple TV by the first quarter of 2016, said Eddy Cue, senior VP of Internet Software and Services at Apple. He also said the app will reproduce the features of the physical Siri.

Cue said Apple’s “working on a new Apple TV remote app that will give you the full functionality of the Siri Remote on your iPhone”. “We’re hoping to ship that in the first half of next year”.

By launching Siri integration, Apple has released the biggest feature on its fourth-generation Apple TV, and has extended this functionality to an iPhone app to produce an enhanced user experience.

Apple rolled out the latest version of tvOS 9.1 this week. With the update comes the feed text input that allows users to access the Remote app and easily feed text with the help of their iPhone or iPad.

Cue also said Apple is witnessing a “tremendous developer interest” and revealed Apple is integrated with more than 2, 000 new apps.

Apple has brought tremendous improvements to the new Apple TV. Siri integration was initially scheduled to be rolled-out in 2016.
