The long-awaited Apple Watch has finally been launched. And apparently, the Apple Watch release date is set for April 24 in Australia. Here is a list of pricing, availability, pre-order and key features of this smartwatch.
Apple Watch Price
According to SMH, the high-end, luxury model of the Apple Watch, also known as the Apple Watch Edition, will set the buyers back by a whopping $14,000 in Australia. Meanwhile, the Apple Watch price pertaining to the Sport variant will reportedly cost $499 for the smaller 38 mm sized model and $579 for the 42 mm sized model. And moreover, the standard/basic version of the Apple Watch price is quoted to be $799 in Australia. The Australian pricing details were apparently released by Tim Cook in San Francisco.
Apple Watch Pre-Order And Release Date/Availability Details
The Apple Watch pre-order window will reportedly open on April 10 and as mentioned earlier, the shipments will start from April 24 onwards. Plus, here is the list of countries the Apple Watch will be made available on the said date: Australia, the U.S., Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan and the UK, notes GSM Arena.
Apple Watch Build Materials
It is worth noting that, different variants of the Apple Watch features different build materials. Reportedly, the high-end "Edition" model comes in 18-carat yellow or rose gold. On the other hand, the “Sport” variant and the standard watch are apparently made of aluminium and steel, respectively.
Apple Watch Highlights (Battery)
SMH says, Tim Cook apparently told the event attendees that the Apple Watch is capable of handling many functions that are currently associated with the Apple iPhone. As expected, the iPhones can be paired wirelessly to the watch and thereby, the users can access internet. For instance, Uber cabs can be booked directly via the watch, notes the same site.
In addition, the Apple Watch can reportedly be used to track exercise, remind events and make calls via the paired iPhone by utilising the housed speaker and microphone in the watch. Speaking of battery life, the Apple Watch will reportedly last for 18 hours in the case of full-usage. In case wearers would like to use this smartwatch as a wrist watch i.e. for checking time, the battery will reportedly last for about 48 hours. Interestingly, when the watch battery goes below the required level, the device will switch to a power-saving mode that displays just the time. And this power-saving model will last for a good 72 hours in the case of moderate-usage, notes SMH.
