‘Arrow’ Season 4 Update: Episode 1 Script Ready, Amell Teases What Happens Next (Spoilers)
“Arrow” Season 4 is underway. Showrunner Marc Guggenheim recently teased fans on Twitter with a photo of the script cover of the first episode. The Arrow himself, Stephen Amell, retweeted the same image. Amell also dropped a hint on what happens next in The CW series.
Spoiler alert: This update contains spoilers on “Arrow” Season 3. Read on at your own risk if you have not watched the previous season.
“Arrow” Season 4, episode 1 was written by show boss Marc Guggenheim and writer Wendy Mericle. The story was developed by co-showrunner Greg Berlanti and writer Beth Schwartz. Amell tweeted the script was “an excellent lunchtime reading.”
It is believed the first episode of the fourth season will bring Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) back to Starling City. What viewers want to find out is the trigger that would make this happen.
On Twitter, Amell got asked to sum up “Arrow” Season 4 in a few words. The actor obliged, and gave a one-liner question in response.
“What’s wrong, Speedy?” Amell tweeted. Fans interpret this to mean that Ollie’s sister Thea a.k.a. Speedy (Willa Holland) will have some serious problem in Starling City. Oliver, who wrapped up Season 3 driving into the sunset with Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), is not bound to be a carefree man for long.
For her part, Felicity is not without serious responsibilities, either. To begin with, Ray Palmer a.k.a. Atom (Brandon Routh) left the entire Palmer Industries in her name. That said, the lovebirds are bound to come back to Starling City.
As for Speedy, she is far from being well-adjusted as a superhero. She, however, has the support of the Black Canary (Katie Cassidy). Now that her father Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) is officially the new head of the demon, major plot changes are expected in her world. Ollie, who always makes sacrifices for his family, will not stay far away from his little sis.
There are many more way to interpret Amell’s teaser. But it is too early to get too caught up in one question. “Arrow” Season 4 filming is expected to get intense in the next couple of days.
