Asus ZenFone Max supersedes Apple iPhone 6s Plus in battery life challenge
Longer battery life is probably one of the most important aspects of smartphones today. The ZenFone Max, introduced back in August 2015 comes packed with a humongous battery inside. The smartphone toppled Apple’s iPhone 6s plus in Asus’s Battery Marathon Challenge.
Marketed as a smartphone with longer battery life, the Asus ZenFone Max houses a battery with 5,000 mAh capacity which is almost twice that of the 2,750 mAh battery of iPhone 6s Plus.
In the Battery Marathon Challenge (see video below), the ZenFone Max outperformed Apple’s iPhone 6s Plus by a whopping 7 hours.
The ZenFone Max registered a magnificent 12 hours 45 minutes of battery life with continuous video playback. On the other hand, the Apple iPhone 6s Plus lasted for only 5 hours and 31 minutes on a single charge.
According to Asus, the monstrous battery helps the ZenFone Max stay alive for 38 days on standby, up to 37.6 hours of 3G talk time, up to 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing and 22.6 hours of video playback.
The ZenFone Max is an affordable handset offering by Asus whereas the iPhone 6s Plus is current flagship of Apple. The ZenFone Max does come packed with a huge battery but that cannot be the only differentiating factor.
There are quite a few other factors which should be considered before judging a phone’s performance. The Asus battery test did not highlight other specs and features of both the handsets.
The Asus ZenFone Max features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, whereas the iPhone 6s Plus is run by Apple’s powerful A9 processor, which actually drains a lot of battery.
Though both the smartphones features 5.5-inch displays, the Apple iPhone 6s Plus supports a Full HD 1080p screen as compared to 720p display of the ZenFone Max.
The ZenFone Max is one of the few smartphones with gigantic battery inside including Lenovo Vibe P1, Lenovo P70, Oppo R7 Plus and Gionee Marathon M4.
