AT&T Releases Android 4.1 Jelly Bean for LG Escape Owners
AT&T announced the latest update for LG Escape with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean firmware. The 4.0 ICS LG smartphone with 1.2 dual-core processor and 1GB RAM is finally going to enjoy Google Now and Project Butter features.
According to the AT&T Consumer Blog, the new software version includes several changes, including the notification display that groups updates from the same application together and allows you to expand or collapse notifications. Users will also be able to view the full text of an SMS and the full photo of any MMS received on the notifications window.
Android 4.1 firmware should also bring the Jelly Bean goodness of Google Now with intelligent search system and Project Butter for fluid and smooth touch response.
AT&T DriveMode is also available through the Jelly Bean update. It is designed to limit texting while driving by automatically replying to incoming texts, emails, and wireless callers once your car reaches 25 miles per hour.
Owners of the LG Escape can get the update through Over-the-Air procedure provided under an active Wi-Fi Internet connection. Go to "Settings > General > About Phone > Software Update > Update Now" and follow the instructions prompt provided. Make sure to create a backup of all personal information and data files on your device in case something goes wrong.
No releases yet for any manual updates are available and hopefully some developers can create one for those who cannot access the OTA update.
