Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been doing the rounds recently talking about his character in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” This time the actor, who plays Pietro Maximoff a.k.a. Quicksilver, talks in-depth about his character’s costume and how his scenes were filmed to make his speed power more believable to viewers.

In an interview with IGN, Aaron Taylor-Johnson said that post-production may have by now already experimented with his scenes and having them go into what he called “Quicksilver Time.” However, as for shooting his speed scenes in “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the actor detailed how he was initially harnessed to an inclined running machine to test his running speed while facing a green screen. But that technique reportedly “didn’t give a sense that anything was really traveling.” Instead, the actor said the outcome only made the scene “look too clean and neat.”

Thus, filming for Quicksilver’s scenes in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” took to the road next. Aaron Taylor-Johnson recalled the crew had to shoot some scenes while riding on a truck. “Then, when we did some stuff on the road and they shot, like, 120 frames per second, they were on a truck and driving on sprint for a hundred meters -- the more kind of crazy ducking and diving -- and when they sped that up, it had a lot more of a really interesting [look] to it,” he explained. While this filming process may sound exhausting, the actor actually thought it was a lot of fun.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson was also asked during the interview whether his version of Quicksilver in “Avengers: Age of Ultron” would follow the comics, wherein he would eventually suit up with a very distinctive costume towards the end of the movie. However, as opposed to having a very distinct costume like with Captain America and Iron Man, according to Cinema Blend the Maximoff twins dresses up with whatever clothes they can pick up on the streets. Aaron Taylor-Johnson said they’re somewhat like Eastern-European travelers who pick up clothes along the way. But as for Quicksilver, he reportedly starts off more like a civilian in the film, dressed in sporty clothes such as cycle top, t-shirts and long-sleeves.
