'Avengers: Age of Ultron': Elizabeth Olsen Reveals Scarlet Witch Will Move Like A Dancer
Elizabeth Olsen’s character Scarlet Witch will reportedly be more of a dancer than a fighter in “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” The actress recently revealed details about her character in her interview with Empire Magazine. Olsen reportedly studied her character in details before playing it onscreen and also learned dance as director Joss Whedon wanted Scarlet Witch to demonstrate her abilities via specific dance style.
“Joss was really inspired by dancers, and so he knew that he wanted to change visually how she moves, to be more like a dancer than a fighter. I trained with a dancer, Jenny White, which was its own kind of soreness, but it wasn't what I thought it would be,” Wells said, reported Cinema Blend. Olsen also admitted that she did not do stunts training.
Scarlet Witch is a mutant and has the ability to alternate reality. She has been gifted with range weapons and can do changes to the environment from a long distance. It will be interesting to see Scarlet Witch demonstrate her powers while doing dance moves. Meanwhile, in the first trailer of “Avengers: Age of Ultron” a shot of ballerinas, performing steps in the dark room was shown. The shot could possibly have a connection with Scarlet Witch, according to the website.
It has also been reported that Scarlet Witch could play a very important role in the film. According to Olsen the "coolest thing" about her character is that the production team has the freedom to create her moves, reported Comic Book. In the comic book she is the twin sister of Quicksilver and the daughter of Magneto. Scarlet Witch has previously appeared in the mid-credit scenes in “Captain America: The Winter Soldier.
