In three days, "Batman: Arkham Origins" will be making its way to multiple platforms. But WB Bros. Montreal wants to make an even bigger entrance by providing a 17-minute gameplay trailer that shows off a walkthrough of the game.

Senior producer Ben Mattes and gameplay director Michael McIntyre show off what to expect for "Batman: Arkham Origins." Here, you can see the main storyline, which is the Black Mask putting a bounty on the head of Batman on Christmas Eve.

"In the game, you, as Batman, are free to set out in the open world and stop these crimes in progress and stop these thugs and mercenaries from destroying the city that you're sworn to protect at any time," said Mr Mattes. "Or, of course, you can focus your attention on Black Mask and the assassins," he added.

The graphics are pretty much dark and dreary but well-created nonetheless. As for the gameplay, detective work and looking for information to get through the night will be part of your mission. But there is also the challenge of confronting the police system, which is also not a good ally for the meantime.

As though that's not enough, a TV spot has also been released, a less than a minute trailer that shows the more cinematic side of the story. Basically, it's looking at Bruce Wayne's slow progress into the world of Batman and what took him there.

Looking at Batman's Motivation Through Alfred

Of all the characters in the upcoming "Batman: Arkham Origins," perhaps one of the more interesting ones involve Alfred Pennyworth, Bruce Wayne's trusted butler. Before you say "boring," Alfred's role may be more than just putting action on the screen. He may be the key to seeing the growth and progress that Batman's young character for the game needs.

As what the developers have been talking about, "Batman: Arkham Origins" is an origin story that traces back to how Batman will slowly become the masked hero that he's destined to be.

And part of that is the actual journey, one where Alfred may play the significant role of mentor and confidant.

"He [Batman] is alone with Alfred being the only person he can confide in, and Alfred fundamentally does not agree with or understand why he's putting his life at risk on this most challenging of all nights," said producer Mr Mattes in an interview quoted by OXM.

"And that helps to reinforce how far that relationship has to grow, that Alfred would so directly challenge Batman's motives. Not his actions, but his motives, and the reasons for doing what he does, shows that these two are not where we know they end up, so there's another awesome opportunity for growth with that relationship," he added.

Alfred is pretty much the only character with which gamers can explore and see just how and why Batman does what he does. Let all the eight other assassins and villains take the action - for those who may want to see how Batman grows into the hero he will be, Alfred may be that sage you'll have to talk to and see where your growth as Batman will take you.

EU Devices Get 'Batman: Arkham Origins' Later

After the hype that Warner Bros. Montreal's latest installment of the much-loved "Batman: Arkham" series game, those who are in the European area will be getting their copy later than the rest of the world.

According to a report from Games Radar, the PC version of "Batman: Arkham Origins," as well as "Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate" on the Nintendo 3DS, will be delayed by two weeks until Nov 8.

The rest of the other platforms, the versions for the PS3 and Xbox 360 of "Batman: Arkham Origins," and the PS Vita version of the "Blackgate" game will still come on Oct 25.

For now, those who will be experiencing the delay can try out the "Batman: Arkham Origins" iOS game, which was developed by NetherRealm Studios, the same developer behind the brawler game "Injustice: Gods Among Us." The free-to-play game should get you by the two weeks, at least until "Batman: Arkham Origins" and the "Blackgate" games get to Europe.
